I just came across some domestic violence (also known as intimate partner violence) that I wanted to share:

• In the U.S., 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men are victims of domestic violence at some point in their lives.
• Nearly 1 in 5 women have been raped during their lives, compared with 1 in 71 men.
• Every day, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends.

The first step to eliminating this crisis is awareness. We need to cultivate an awareness of an issue that is out of control and completely unacceptable. Then we must take action to stand up for the dignity of the victims and their families.
